about me
Elizabeth Lopez (she/her), LCSW is a private-practice psychotherapist in New York City. She began her career as a clinical social worker at a national not-for-profit social service agency for the performing arts and entertainment community. There she served folks seeking access to and information about affordable housing, conducted mental health assessments, offered counseling services and referrals, ran clinical support groups and psycho-educational seminars & workshops, and supervised graduate-level social work interns.
She now works in private practice where she provides individual, couples and group therapy to adults with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress management, grief/bereavement and relationship issues.

my approach
Whether you’re looking to gain insight, know yourself more deeply, or identify patterns of behaviors that are harmful- you’ve landed at the right place. Through a shared commitment to the therapeutic process, we can work on strengthening relationships, setting authentic goals and creating actionable steps to achieve them. My goal as a therapist is to ensure that my clients’ feel they have concrete tools and strategies for coping outside of therapy when challenging times arise. I strive to create a space for my clients that is free of judgment, and where they feel heard, seen, and encouraged to get to know themselves more deeply.

My treatment style is a blend of psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT and emotion-focused therapy. Most importantly, treatment will always be a collaborative effort, tailored to the individual clients needs, and changed over the course of treatment as needed. I work mostly with adults 18+, and have worked extensively with entertainment professionals.
